BOULDER, Colo. – Another incredible effort and two FBS records from placekicker Zane Gonzalez were not enough as the Arizona State University football team fell, 40-16, at Colorado in Boulder on Saturday night.
Gonzalez kicked three field goals of 50 or more yards, including a school-record 59-yarder in the fourth quarter. In the process he set two FBS records, breaking Dustin Hopkins' FBS record for career points by a kicker and also tying the FBS record for most field goals of 50 or more yards in a single game with three.
The Sun Devil offense struggled outside of that, combining for just 199 yards of total offense while being forced into eight three-and-outs in the contest.
