The Wisconsin Badgers extended head coach Greg Gard through the 2028-29 season on Friday, as the UW Athletic Board approved extensions for a number of coaches.
Along with Gard, the Badgers extended women’s basketball coach Marisa Moseley, swimming and diving head coach Yuri Suguiyama, men’s hockey coach Mike Hastings, women’s hockey coach Mark Johnson, and wrestling coach Chris Bono.
The extensions are part of a routine one-year extension that the Badgers athletic board, keeping their winter coaches at their initial contract allotment of five years.
Gard is coming off a 22-14 season that saw the Badgers start strong, hit a rough patch, and see a revival in the Big Ten Tournament before suffering a first-round exit in the NCAA Tournament.
